Introduction

Updated: May 16, 2019

Good morning, afternoon or evening to you, reader, and welcome to The Beaded Sheep! My name is Elise and I have been making crafts under The Beaded Sheep since I was in high school. At that time, I was making homemade beaded jewelry in my childhood bedroom (hence the "Beaded" part of the site name) and I have always had a love for sheep (thus, explaining how the two came together). The name has stuck with me since as I have moved away from making jewelry and gotten into the craft of making cards. Although I am always up for trying new crafts and rarely will shy away from the opportunity to try a new skill.

When it comes to creating, I also enjoy baking and getting to be creative through that craft. I am a huge Great British Bake Off fan, and that has inspired me to try baking new treats that I might not otherwise have tried, such as chocolate chip streusel brioche buns, lemon-poppy seed loaf, and a twisty almond raspberry tart.

One of my favorite past times is reading. I can usually be found with my nose in a book, a book in my purse, or at least one book somewhere near my person at home. My favorite genres are mysteries, historical fiction, and crime fiction.

I am also a yoga teacher. I am a RYT 200hr teacher certified through YogaWorks, which I studied at YogaBalance Studio in New Hampshire, where I now teach Prenatal Yoga. I am also currently working on getting my full certification to teach Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, as that is my passion in the yoga world. When I first started teaching at YogaBalance, I was also in the beginning of my pregnancy with my daughter. I taught all through my pregnancy as well as taking the Prenatal classes as the studio and teaching once a week at the office where I worked at the time. I am very excited about sharing what I have learned through that yoga journey here!

Which leads me to my favorite role yet: being a mom. My daughter was born in May of 2018 and watching her grow up is a true blessing. I always heard other moms saying how incredible motherhood is (while simultaneously being super difficult, let's not kid ourselves) and did not fully understand until that sweet little girl was in my arms for the first time. It is truly the greatest journey I have ever been on.

All of that to say that I am very excited to share all of these things with you and hope you learn some fun new tips along the way!
